Activated Charcoal & Tea Tree Drawing Soap* - VEGAN - Activated charcoal soothes distressed skin, adsorbs toxins, deep cleans sweaty post exercise skin, removes oils, and draws impurities from pores. Tea tree essential oil helps clarify skin and soothe .

Bay Rum* - VEGAN - Classic subtle spice mix favored by both men and women. Emotionally calming essential oils include clove bud, cinnamon, patchouli, cedarwood, and sweet orange oil. FYI: Research has said that a subtle fragrance of cinnamon causes others to view you as slimmer than you are. Truly. (See Geranium Beauty Bar for the other aroma persuasion from this study.)

Blood Orange* - VEGAN - Fresh and clean with skin nourishing Vitamin C. Firmer bar makes it longer lasting.

Breathe Bar* - VEGAN -  Eucalyptus Spearmint. Feel better as you inhale the beneficial essential oils as you wash. This shower soap is filled with essential oils of eucalyptus, spearmint, peppermint, frankincense, rosemary, lemon, and thyme. Rub a little extra into the bottom of your feet. Tea Tree* - VEGAN - Australian tea tree oil is renowned for distressed skin. Less well known is cajeput, from the same family which adds to beneficial effects. Any soap with tea tree and cajeput make excellent shampoo bars for healthy scalp.
T*H*E* Soap* - VEGAN - *Tea Tree Essential Oil, *Hemp Oil, *Eucalyptus Essential Oil. First aid kit in a bar and an essential for hunters, campers, and all outdoor folks subject to scratches and irritations. An all in one excellent skin, hair, and scalp bar. A powerful synergy of natural oils moisturize and repair skin and scalp. Warming cajeput, along with tea tree and eucalyptus, is a first aid kit oil.
Vanilla Bean Goats Milk Soap* - Any goat milk soap is guaranteed to be smooth and gentle. This soap is subtle and favored by men as well as women, not to mention children. Vanilla is one of the most calming and soothing scents-- think baking sugar cookies. Vanilla turns very dark during the soap making process which is why this soap is dark brown, almost black. The interior is often a very light, well, vanilla color. Wonderful.

Shea Butter

One of the most beneficial skin care ingredient available in soap.
Shea butter is the fatty substance extracted from the nuts of the Karite Tree -Vitellaria paradoxa (formerly Butyrospermum parkii) - that grows in the savannah regions of West Africa.
Gentle enough for babies and soothes skin and diaper rash.
Contains vitamins A, E, K, fatty acids, and antioxidants.
Restores hydration to smooth skin.
Helpful for razor irritation and bumps.
Softens tough skin on feet and heels. Helps reduce appearance of distressed skin.
Excellent for hair and scalp.
Readily absorbed by skin.

Yogurt

For face or body.
Enhanced gentle exfoliation due to lactic acid content. Washing dead surface cells down the drain leaves skin softer and smoother.
Enhanced surface exfoliation allows greater penetration of skin care ingredients whether present in the soap itself or from application of subsequent serums, lotions, or creams.
Skin care properties include zinc to enhance clarity of skin whether it occurs on your face or body.
Properties in yogurt make this soap especially refreshing after a workout.

Milk / Goat Milk

Famous since Cleopatra first bathed in milk.
Goat milk contains enhanced moisturizing capric-capryllic triglycerides, zinc, fats, and Vitamins A and D.
Milk provides a pH level closest to skin.
Especially gentle for even the most sensitive skin.
Less drying or irritating for those who bear the burden of skin irritations.
Lactic acid content provides gentle exfoliation to shed itchy surface skin cells.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is one of nature's most soothing skin care ingredients.
Especially soothing for itchy skin.
Gentle exfoliation for smoother skin.

Sea Salt

Contains skin nourishing minerals: magnesium, zinc, calcium, potassium, and iodine.
Deep cleans pores and removes surface toxins.
Relaxing.
Physical exfoliation from grains for scrubbing. (Never rub over face.)

Aloe

Aloe is well known as a skin soothing agent.
Aloe in soap provides benefits dry, flaky skin without sensitivity that often results from more concentrated forms.
Contains 19 amino acids to moisturize and enhance appearance.
Aloe promotes a clean, healthy scalp.
Honey is in nature's first aid kit and provides extra moisturizing properties
Gentle on hard working hands.

Coconut Oil / Olive Oil

High levels of vitamins A and E, and other antioxidants.
High moisturizing properties keep skin smooth and supple.
Natural ability to help damaged skin.

Hemp Oil

Rich in essential fatty acids, including Omega -3 and Omega 6, which provide moisture to skin to keep it soft and supple. Gamma linoleic acids promotes soft, healthy skin.
Excellent hair and scalp moisturizing properties.

Essential Oils in Soap

Almost all essential oils are refreshing with skin friendly repair in soap, and help in the control of body odor. While they are the most costly ingredients in any soap preparation, their properties enhance the benefits already inherent in the soaps.

Some of the most useful essential oils for soap formulas:

Lavender. Well known to calm and soothe the spirit. Relieves stress, anxiety, and tension. Soothing for distressed skin.

Tea Tree. Tea tree is very herbal yet is considered uplifting. It is well-known help for troubled skin.

Eucalyptus. Eucalyptus can be grounding and up-lifting. It sometimes helps reduce excess oiliness if used as a facial soap. Inhalation helps clear sinuses.

Lemongrass. Lemongrass is one of nature's stress relievers. It is commonly used for oily and distressed skin. It is refreshing to use after a workout. Many golfers and sports folks use it for its insect repellent properties.

Rosemary. Nature's fine-tuning knob. When you need a mood adjustment, are feeling a bit down, or need to be more alert, rosemary brings mental balance. Rosemary is excellent for itchiness and many skin troubles. NOTE: Rosemary essential oil should NOT be used by pregnant women or anyone who suffers from epilepsy.

Patchouli. The Age of Aquarius essential oil. Patchouli is an essential oil aroma that one seems to either love or hate, but in soap, it is mild to the spirit. In soap it is calming, relaxing, and is said to enhance happiness. It is excellent for very dry skin. It is gentle enough to be useful on troubled skin and often helpful for soothing foot issues.

Peppermint. Peppermint is a wonderful morning wake up call as it is refreshing and stimulating. It helps relieve invigorate your body and brings relief when inhaled.

Spearmint. Spearmint is light, calming, and relaxing, used often to uplift the spirit from mental fatigue. It has a much lighter aroma than many oils. Inhalation of its vapors soothes.

Directions
Ingredients

Any of the soaps may be used for skin, face, or hair. Choose a bar for individual needs. All are gentle and moisturizing.
Some soaps have sea salt or herbal additions. Rubbed directly on skin provides a little extra exfoliation.
If using as a face soap, develop the lather in your hands before applying to face.
Soap will last longer if allowed to dry out between use. Avoid storing your soap where shower water hits it continuously.
Remember that these are hand-made and occasionally soaps will still be slightly soft. Allow soap to cure in the air to firm it up.
Soap does not get "old." Soap will lose water (but not its moisturizing properties) and may tend to shrink a little in size. The fragrance may slightly diminish with time. The upside is that older bars last longer.
Be frugal: Collect all your small pieces of soap in a soap sack to coalesce into a usable size. This will squeeze every last bubble out of the soap. Literally.
