Stress, astringent, calms children, seniors, pets. Citrus aurantium var.amara (flos). Organic. France.
Neroli (Orange Blossom) essential oil is one of the most expensive of all oils, which makes its hydrosol an affordable alternative. It smells wonderful! Neroli hydrosol is an antibacterial and anti-fungal astringent that makes a wonderful treatment for sensitive, delicate, or oily skin to reduce irritation and clear acne. It is such a good astringent that one should avoid use directly on very dry skin, or use it in combination with lavender, rose, or geranium. Use it after exercising to cool down and relax, close pores without clogging them, relieve sweaty skin, and prevent breakouts or athlete's foot.
Neroli's calming properties make it an important anti-stress agent. It is the hydrosol of choice to quell hysterics in children, babies, and adults. It can be used to relieve the effects of a sudden shock. Parents find it helpful to moderate hyperactivity in children with ADHD. Gentle enough for babies, it can be used to calm a child in the throes of a tantrum. Spray an inflamed baby bottom for almost instant relief of diaper rash pain.
This hydrosol is mildly sedative to the central nervous system without causing sleepiness, and can quiet caffeine jitters. Many find it useful as an antispasmodic. Mist on the abdomen and massage into skin using clockwise motions, to relieve stress-related bloating, gas, and constipation. There are anecdotal reports that neroli has been effective in reducing thread veins.
Neroli, along with rose, is one the healing waters that is often used as a natural perfume as it will not aggravate those who are scent sensitive. Use it in face masks for an luxury skin treatment. It is often used in sweets, beverages, with fruit, or in jams and preserves. Internal application: An antispasmodic digestive aid. Neroli is effective in children with ADHD, or as a support for those quitting an addiction habit like smoking.
